We began our new Theme - On the Go. This week we talked about wheels. We discussed all the ways wheels help us move and work. We talked about the shape of wheels, color of wheels and where we find wheels.
Library- Mrs. Boyle read The Little Blue Truck. We watched The Wheels on the Bus video and sang the song..
We reviewed the letters - M, H, B, L, P, J, V, S, G, F, C, and M. We introduced letter W. . The children are finding their first letter of their name on the ABC wall. .We reviewed letters of the alphabet.
We introduced order- first, second, third. We counted to 3. We reviewed sizes. with trucks and cars.
We introduced the new month of March. We talked about the weather in March cabin be like a lion or a lamb. We discussed the letter L. We are counting the days for lion and lamb weather. Lamb is in the running now but the lion is still winning.
We reviewed numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 We counted 1-10. We identified the numbers 11-14 on the calendar. The children worked on counting 1-5 sheep puzzles.
We reviewed Ash Wednesday, cross and Lent. We talked about the color purple for lent, saying our prayers, and being kind and helpful to everyone. The children dot painted a cross with purple paint. We had a visit from the 2 seminarians who visit the school and church each week. They talked to the children about how Jesus loves us and saying prayers. They helped the children work on puzzles.
The children dot painted a shamrock. We talked a shamrocks. The children identified the letter on the shamrocks. They danced to music. When the music stopped they returned to their letter on the shamrock. The Children worked on fine motor skills with coloring, building, painting, tracing, cutting, and drawing. The students practiced writing their names.
We reviewed keeping safe in our class by using our walking feet, listening ears, big voices, sharing hands, gentle hands, and helping hands.
We continue to review the names of the students. Each day the children find their name. We discuss the first letter of their name. The children are also working on telling us the letters in their first names daily.
We read Wheels Are All Around, Three Bears Vacation, Little Blue Truck, and Curious George Happy St. Patrick's Day. We watched St. Patrick day videos, counting 1 - 10 video, and Movement videos.
