Week of Monday, March 21st:
This week in ELA, we begin our Drama Unit in Literature featuring Francis Goodrich & Albert Hackett's two-act play, The Diary of Anne Frank, based on the posthumously published Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank. The whole class will participate in a roleplay-style reading of the dialogue detailing the time the Frank and Van Daan families spent in hiding from the Nazis with help of their friends Mr. Krahler and Miep. In Social Studies, 8th grade will be taking a quiz on early and Radical Reconstruction and then embarking on notes and discussion on the South under Reconstruction.
Attention Reading Olympics Members: Our Reading Olympics Competition will be held virtually on Monday, April 4th, from 1pm to 3pm. Be prepared to "compete" in practice competitions at our Lunch Recess meetings this Wed, March 23rd, and next Wed, March 30th!
